U.N.U. - A Nova Portugalidade
U Nu (The Naked) is an innovative music group. The contemporary style, formed from various musical genres, is based on literary texts by Vitorino Almeida Ventura. The musicians interpret, sing, recite, dance, act, mime, blow reeds, strike bells…and classical instruments – in a unique way. In the composition of their work, the performers use various structures and musical styles from Portuguese folk music to pop to classical. Their work includes other art forms as well: photography, painting, theater, realized by members of the group in collaboration with other artists. All things considered, The Naked is surely an interesting bet for the integration of all kinds of actions and for situations open to creativity. This CD is produced by Mário Barreiros, under the artistic direction of José João Cochofel, with design by Antero Ferreira.

João C. Bom - Outside the law
À Margem da Lei (At the edge of the Law)
Despite some commentaries proclaiming the extinction of this band, the truth is: it never happened - as one can witness with this new work released by Numérica. Formed in February 1987 and known as a live act, due to the many concerts of its early years, João C. Bom published their first CD in 1989, which included production by Rui Veloso and the publisher EMI. Until the end of 1991, the band continued its activity while promoting its 1989 work. It later decided to restructure, continuing to compose new songs which would become “À Margem da Lei\". This new formation sees the departure of Carlos Polónia (who performed the functions of vocals and guitar), and the arrival of Mário Amora (keyboards). João C. Bom present us with 11 new songs sung in Portuguese, opening a new phase in the career of a band who doesn’t fall into “fashion” and knows how to construct a solid and esthetically well-defined path.

Reportér Estrábico - Disco de Prata
To speak of “Repórter Estrábico” (Cross-eyed reporter) is complicated. Although there are those who say their sound is alternative, labels don’t easily fit onto the band. They flee from banality, and the band’s resources only bring them advantages. The don’t fit into commercial music, but the unusualness in the way that that they bring together the eclipses of their eccentric sonority, means they are at times less than loved.” -from The 1st of January. Repórter Estrábico is unanimously considered by the critics as one of the most important and creative bands of the 90’s. The disc "1 Bigo" (NUM 1023) is also available.
