Emilio Robalo was born in Lisbon and always felt attracted by Afro-American music. His vast curriculum includes participation with the group, Araripa, at the Jazz Festivals in Cascais in 1975 and 1976. He has recorded discs with Fernando Girão and Carlos Mendes.
