André Sarbib - THIS IS IT!

this is it!

I-Tunes:

André Sarbib’s new work is pure delight for any lover of good music. Today, it’s not that easy to find such a complete recording, either for the craftsmanship of the musicians and the theme selection, starting with the classic “My foolish heart” by Washington Young, that popularized the 1975 get together of Bill Evans and Tony Bennett, to the André Sarbib’s original theme “Asas”, that reminds me of a Jarrett-Garbarek mood.

Both in French as in English, André’s voice offers no doubt, it transmits jazz everywhere. Each musician performs perfectly and the flugelhorn is fundamental on this meeting of ballads.
This is a linear project, very much to my taste, with a good melody and sensibility. It will surely please those that love jazz and the ones that don’t fancy it that much!!!

SAMUEL QUINTO TRIO - LATIN JAZZ THRILL

SAMUEL QUINTO TRIO

I-Tunes:

Resume
An impressive trio of Latin Jazz, with surprising quality and technique, that does not submit to traditional forms and carries us to an enveloping universe of sounds.
The bold-spirited independence of its pianist (composer responsible for the arrangement and selection of songs) reveals a precious creativity, an incessant search for perfection, and the passion for rich and singular harmonics.
An inevitable communication between the listener and this trio is created, inviting the senses with its strong rhythms and involving melodies, making even the greatest skeptics of this style of music surrender passionately to it.

DUO IBERIA - EAST OF THE MOON

EAST OF THE MOON

I-Tunes:

After “Divertimento for Duke & Monk”, DUO IBERIA presents its 2nd CD with Numérica. “East of the moon” is the new recording by the Portuguese-Spanish duo.

“East of the moon” is a disk of original compositions by the two composers and musicians, Laurent Filipe (trumpet) and Pedro Sarmiento (piano)

Details:

“The music we have recorded on this CD translates the lived experiences during our travels to Asia and the East. Some pieces were the almost immediate result of contact with countries and cultures where the dimensions of closeness and distance developed into a permanent game of mirrors: what, one moment, seems exotic and distant, makes itself near and familiar during the next. Other pieces were developed with the necessary time to be played, so that form and sense could take greater shape.
The recording process was an instantaneous act, fundamental to the spontaneity which this music and its expressivity require.
East of the Moon is a reference and also a homage to the Eastern experience, to what it has brought to us, and to what it may bring in the future.”
