Released with the support of the Aveiro University this new cd, interpreted by the Performa Ensemble, presents us with pieces by João Pedro Oliveira, Sara Carvalho, António Chagas Rosa, Evgueni Zoudilkine and Isabel Soveral.

"Crossover Project

EThis Cd is the result of a challenge made to the composers of the Department of Communication and Art of Aveiro University. It proposes a new reading of different styles of popular music, and the creation of original works influenced by this type of music. 

João Pedro Oliveira recomposes the ironic and energetic music of Frank Zappa, António Chagas Rosa chooses the blues, Sara Carvalho redefines tonal and atonal relations and includes unpredictability in the musical flow, Isabel Soveral composes and suggests improvisations based on original jazz theme by Manuel Lourenço and Evgueni Zoudilkine gets his inspiration in rhythmic patterns of jazz and pop, and applies them to his own musical style.

All these pieces were composed for this project.\\"
